There’s nothing like being handed a camera at 18 years of age and told to support an article on people in all walks of life – from farmers, to All Blacks, politicians, cars, rocks stars…plus write about them!

But 15 years later I am thankful for the push……

Thanks to a successful career in news, sport, political, feature and lifestyle reporting since (always with that camera in hand), I’ve learnt to relate to a wide range of people, situations, beliefs, places and . . . animals!

When you commission someone to take your photos, you need experience.

You may have an image portrayed in your mind and need someone to interpret and bring-to-life your concept.

And when you want your special day captured, you need an artistic mind, a person that is passionate about your look and feel, along with what you want to achieve.

You want your photographer to bring out the best in all those present – want them to feel confident in their surroundings, and comfortable in front of the camera.

I have been lucky enough to have been surrounded by opportunities to express my photographic abilities and do what I love – capture moments that last a lifetime.
